Our tours range from moderate to challenging, depending on the route. The hike to Humantay Lagoon and Palcoyo is more accessible, while Vinicunca and the 7 Ausangate Lagoons require greater physical endurance due to the altitude and duration. Adequate physical condition and acclimatization are recommended.
Vinicunca is the best known and is located at a higher altitude (5,036 m above sea level). The hike is more challenging, with greater elevation gain and distance. Palcoyo, on the other hand, is a quieter alternative, with a shorter and easier trail (4,900 m above sea level) and fewer tourists, ideal for those seeking a more relaxing experience.
All our tours include roundtrip transportation from Cusco, breakfast and lunch (buffet or boxed), attraction entrance fees, and a professional bilingual guide. Some tours also include walking sticks and a first aid kit.
We recommend bringing comfortable, warm clothing (in layers), a raincoat or poncho, hiking shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, gloves, a reusable water bottle, light snacks, and cash in soles for personal expenses.
These tours are not recommended on the first or second day after arriving in Cusco. Ideally, take at least two days to acclimatize before trekking at high altitude. We also provide oxygen and assistance if you experience discomfort during the trek.
Yes, but we recommend the Palcoyo and Humantay Lagoon tours for children over 7 years old and older adults in good health, as they are more accessible hikes. The Vinicunca and Ausangate Lagoon tours are more demanding due to the altitude and length, so they require better physical condition and acclimatization. If you want to take these tours with children under 7 or older adults, it's best to opt for a private option, which allows you to progress at a more comfortable pace and receive personalized attention throughout the tour.
The best time to visit is from April to October, during the dry season, when the weather is more stable, the roads are in better condition, and there is less chance of rain. November through March is the rainy season, which can make access difficult and affect the visibility of the landscapes. However, our tours run regularly every day, year-round, weather permitting and with no safety restrictions.
In the event of extreme weather conditions or safety closures, we offer the option to reschedule the tour or participate in an alternative activity. If neither option is possible, we apply our partial or full refund policy, as appropriate.
